It was a worthwhile trip to Felbridge for the Fohunter Second Rounds, where we saw 3 fierce rounds of jumping with 100 competitors starting at 1.40m and finishing at 1.45/1.50m. Expenditure jumped 3 super clear rounds, with a quick jump off time to finish just behind Laura Renwick to secure the golden HOYS ticket. With the run of form Ependiture has had this year it has always been a goal of both Joe and his owners Abi and Luca Cullum to have him qualify for HOYS and it was really fantastic to secure this in such a competitive class!

HOYS Bound!

It’s been a busy but very productive March and April with a team in Oliva Nova Spain. Joes new partner ‘Expenditure’ stepped up & up from the bronze 1.30m classes to finish by jumping 2 LR 1.45 classes. They had some exceptional wins and placings and we are very excited to watch this pair grow.

Our trainee Luca Cullum who is based with us had a fantastic tour with his 3 rides. His young horse Heartwin BZ had many clear rounds and placings in some strong 6yr old classes whilst his more experienced horse Memnon stepped up to 1.40m classes. We are very proud of his hard work and progress in a short space of time. 

Joe had several other pupils that he trained throughout the 2 tours which also came home with some super results setting them up nicely for the year ahead.

Now, it’s time for the horses to have some well deserved rest and recovery before we set our sights on Windor horse show and Wales & West in May.
